چکیده

Background: MRI has advantage in the diagnosis of spinal infections because its multiplanar capabilities, soft tissue contrast resolution and delineates extent disease. The purpose our study is to identify differences MR imaging between pyogenic TB Spondylodiscitis. Methods Materials: Retrospective analysis Images 72 patients with confirmed Spondylodiscitis (47 25 Spondylodiscitis). T2, STIR, T1 weighted images (with without enhancement) were assessed axial, sagittal coronal planes. Statistical by Chi-square test p value. Result: main suggestive findings for are a) Thin smooth abscess wall (80.9% vs. 4% b) Well defined paraspinal abnormal signal (83% 16%) c) Heterogeneous focal enhancement vertebral body (91.5% 8%) D) Multi segmental involvement (61.7% 38.3%). Pyogenic Thick irregular (56% 4.2% Ill-defined (76% 8.5%) Homogenous diffuse (92.0% Segmental (68% 38.3%) E) Disc space narrowing (100% vs.74.5%) Conclusion: Thus can differentiate from

Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Differentatial Diagnosis of Pyogenic Spondylodiscitis and Tuberculous Spondylodiscitis

BACKGROUND Infectious spondylodiscitis is characterized by the involvement of two adjacent vertebrae and the intervening disc. Incidence rate of the disease is estimated at 0.4-2 cases per 100000 per year. Staphylococcus aureus is the most common infectious agent causing pyogenic spondylodiscitis. Non-pyogenic infections of the spine are most frequently caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and...
